Chickens have always been a fairly common thing to see around the New Orleans area but many were lost with everything else in Hurricane Katrina. Thankfully, chickens are making a comeback. Many people in the New Orleans area are beginning to replenish the chickens so provide a healthy choice for meat and eggs that they know where they came from and what they were fed. In addition to being a great way to feed your family healthier, you can feed them your food wastes to get rid of it and they provide excellent fertilizer for your composting and gardening needs.
